Red Carpet Corridor

From Joliet to Towanda, the Illinois Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor kicks off the season of road trips and vacations.
Downtown Wilmington is the place to be on Saturday with a flea market, hula-hoop contest, music, sales in the shops, chalk the walk and hound dog contests! The fun begins at 9am!
Saturday May 7, 2016 9am – 4pm Downtown will feature a flea market/sidewalk sales, bison burgers and traditional festival fare, bison chip throwing, a bison calling contest, bison drawing contest and traditional activities such as the Hula Hoop and Hound Dog contests.
Sunday May 8, 2016 9am – 2pm The fun is over at the North Island Park, where there will be a baby back rib cook-off and a free picnic lunch for residents and travelers, in partnership with Grilling for Freedom. The First Christian Church is planning a pie baking contest as well.
Both days are sponsored by Wilmington Chamber of Commerce.
